암석지구화학(Geochemistry) 연구실에서는 암석(맨틀암, 화성암 등)과 그 구성광물의 화학성분(주성분, 미량원소성분, 동위원소성분 등)을 바탕으로 암석의 생성과정을 밝히며 나아가 지구와 행성에서의 원소 및 물질의 분포, 반응 및 이동과정에 대해 연구합니다.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are in igneous petrogenesis and mantle dynamics and evolution of the Earth and planets: Based on integrated use of petrography, major and trace element concentrations, and Sr, Nd, Pb, Hf, Os, Mg and O isotope systematics on minerals, whole-rock, and melt inclusions trapped in the early formed phenocrysts.
These tools are currently being applied to the following research projects:
(1) Petrogenesis of ultramafic rocks, and igneous rocks at mid-ocean ridge, arc and intraplate settings
(2) Nature of mantle heterogeneity
(3) Evolution of the Earth lithosphere
(4) Evolution of the eucrite parent body.
